World’s Largest Charging Square in Shenzhen, China

World’s largest charging square. Shenzhen, China. 2019

Shenzhen

During our 2019 China trip we visited Shenzhen, a crazy city of the future. In 35 years Shenzhen went from a small fishing village to a futuristic metropolis where 23 million people live. Only the Chinese have that determined kind of decision-making.

Charging Hub

Shenzhen now has 21.000 electric BYD taxis. Where do they charge? Most of them at World’s Largest Charging Square where 650+ electric cars can be charged at once. There are also some people owned cars at the square. One which is NIO, a Telsa-type electric car brand that young people like a lot.
